I started it on Monday night and every night since I've had really weird dreams. In all the dreams there's some kind of catastrophe and someone I know dies. I have tried all the depression meds and they've all caused side effects so switching is not going to work. I don't know what to do. :(

Absolutely yes. It is a very common side effect. Have you really tried all the medications for depression? Or at least every type? MAO inhibitorsSSRISNRIBupropion (Wellbutrin)Trazodone (Desyrel)Those are the types of antidepressants with Bupropion, Trazodone, and, Mirtazapine each in their own class. But back to the point. It sounds like you have not taken it for a long time so I would give it a chance. Typically with antidepressants side effects tend to go away. Also, the antidepressant (perhaps you have taken it) Nortriptyline (Pamelor) works well for many and is a treatment for nightmares. And if the nightmares do not go away (and the drug helps) it is possible that a benzodiazepine (Valium, Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin) might help with the nightmares. So talk to your doctor. If you can, wait it out to see if it helps. And, if it is needed, see about those drugs for nightmares.Good luckIf you have any questions feel free to contact me.
